Not sure if this is a possibility, but I think this team would be stacked and may be the best in the east.

There's been things and statements he's made recently that he's willing to take a 1 year deal to play with a contended and then cash in when the salary cap goes up.

Pretty sure that Tarasenko is committing to Carolina, And there's no way he's signing for 1 x $1,500,000.

Yeah, but Carolina only has 4.5 million in cap space, so realistically he's getting a 1 year 4 million dollar deal (I feel like he'd prefer to stay in NY since he and his family enjoyed it, but we shall see). And again, I guess we shall see if he signs in Carolina, but I'm still hopeful.

Horrible trade idea for the Rangers. Crazy to give up Chytil and his contract for a 1 year of no d Scheifele rental.

I've seen this Scheifele for Chytil rumor / idea a bit lately. Adding the 2024 1st into it as well?

WPG says... DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO TAKEBACKSIES!!!

This is a great way to ruin relationships with Laffy and Kakko. They won’t want to stay if they continue to get jumped by aging vets lol

They really haven't proven playing ability in a top tole yet in my opinion, and I think they do deserve a shot even with these guys to move up and down the lineup

Kakko most definitely have. And after that terrible playoff showing, the vets don’t deserve top playing time either

Winnipeg would be giddy. That’s a bad deal for the rags. Vladdy isn’t signing essentially a league min deal - last two teams he was deciding between were Sens and canes and sounded like there’s a deal on the table with the canes that’s imminent.

The kid line had 0 goals in the playoffs. Also, if anyone, Laffy has shown more than kakko. If they don't get stronger on the puck I don't think any of them will stay long in the league (either adding muscle or doing more stick skill/control practice). If they get bumped, they lose the puck, watch kakko especially.

lol what? Kakko is literally a beast on the puck…. Laffy is the one who has trouble protecting the puck

I don't think I agree with that about Kakko. Kakko is the absolute worst, as soon as a defender pressures or hits him, he loses the puck, and he loses it to bad areas.

Showing a highlight video shows a player at their best for one instance. I can reply and send you this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1PhWIcO4xk which then makes kakko look like the worst player in the league right? One excellent play doesn't make up for other plays he can't do this/strong play on, which he doesn't do consistently enough. You get one of these plays from him every 41 games. Just not quite good enough in my opinion to warrant top line minutes... yet, which is why I said he and laffy need stick handling/strength conditioning and skill practices. Not sure if this is just via adding more muscle or working more on stick handling skills itself. Again, I can reply and send this of laffy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCtIs9A5vZI and make him look great. I think both are currently not strong enough on the puck which is why they need a strong top 6 rw (Tatar or Tarasenko - honestly was really hoping for nyquist before his move to nashville) for at least 1 more year. Let the kids grow together so that they can become a first line all together and already have that built chemistry when the vets start needing to move down lines.

Right now it’s Kakko > Laffy lol if you think otherwise then i don’t know what to tell you

Besides the point, they need to develop them both instead of turning them into 3rd liners in their 4th/5th years in the league lol the devils are succeeding because they literally put their picks in the top 6 to grow and get better

At this point, NYR won't include the 1st. It would have to be straight up Chytil for Scheifele with retention
