Buyout and a trade

Created by: Jtucks63
Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 4, 2023
Published: Jul. 4, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nylander extension 8x9.5
Matthews 3x13.5

Absolutely not worth what it’s gonna take to trade Murray. Either he’s off to Robidas island or you eat the $2m next year.

Right D is weak but can be upgraded at deadline for a Schenn like fit.

unfortunately the buy out window is closed.
unless samsonov files for arbitration which will probably be awarded over 2.2M which makes this much more difficult. I believe he would have to file by tomorrow.

Lol when your stars are 21, 23, 24 and 25 and all signed long term with plenty of room to grow (Stu is only 21 with 8 years) the calibre changes quickly

4 star players? Stu and Tkuchuk are great sure, but don’t count Norris and… Pinto? In this? As “stars”? I just don’t believe in them in this division especially.

Stu, chucky, Norris and Batherson. Norris is a lot better than people give him credit for and has good stats, just ran into shoulder issues. Batherson is a stud at his Cap hit, just ended up playing with Cat (no defense) and a 3C last year so didn't meet his potential. These four, with support from an absolute unit of a d core will light it up this year.

No doubt they are ready to try and compete for a playoff spot. But they have a whole heckuva lot to prove before that’s a conversation. And I’m definitely surprised they got their guys to commit long term in that city lol

Because there's so much wrong with one of the top 10 cities in the world.

The arena is in Kanata and the LRT/public transportation system is as worse as it gets.

Congrats. You've pointed out the obvious. Better than smog every day, acid rain, bumper to bumper 10 lane traffic, and a giant polluted stinky lake. Toronto is the Florida of Ontario.

Man id never live in Toronto I just cheer for the hockey club. But I live closer to Ottawa and it’s not like it’s an attractive city to be. Snow sucks and horribly designed city. I literally just opened my social media and there’s a news article about how the LRT is having issues at the Lebreton Flats station and Bluesfest starts this week lol 🤦‍♂️
