Toews - is a fifty pt dman that plays top d minutes in every situation pp pk..

Nylander - 80 pt winger at almost double the cap hit... 30 pts and a huge hole on the defense makes this an idiotic trade for the avs

No, toronto is trading from strength... if the avs trade toews then they have the injury prone Byram, makar, and Manson.. with Girard and jack Johnson. Playing meaningful minutes.

Trading toews creates a hole that Byram isn't ready to fill, and the avalanche could sign toews to an extension by easily trading Girard to free up the space.

And even if they were trading strength for strength their is a big value difference between the 2 in toews favor
