DeBrincat wants to play in the States, why would the Habs trade for him?

Also why is Anderson on the 4th and Gallagher on the 3rd, Gally's done, dude played hard but, he's out of gas.

There is no way Mtl makes that trade with Ottawa, no rrom at forward and RD not needed now not to mention too much given up!
And the Armia trade is a bit strange, screw the 7th coming back and make it 4th rounder and for Futures coming back.

Weird because I don't like that return

First there's too many pieces, let's say you forget about the later picks that over complicates it for nothing

Bernard-Docker, Jacob
DeBrincat, Alex

for

Farrell, Sean
Kidney, Riley
2024 2nd round pick (COL)
2025 1st round pick (CGY)

I wouldn't trade JBD for either Farrell or Kidney, he is needed in the grand scheme of things

But let's say JBD and Farrell/Kidney cancel each other, you'd have :

1st in 2025, a late 2nd and a good forward prospect is not that enticing to me. I would much rather have Pageau + Wahlstrom + 1st (rumored)

And on top of it, this is only futures and doesn't help Ottawa now.

Pass.

You are assuming that 1 of JBD is equal to (2) or both the MTL's prospects in your argument here witch could be debated either way at length.
It doesn't really matter after that what is going back for Alex at that point. Like I said the HABS don't have room for him on their roster or cap space so the point is moot.

Farrell/Kidney means one of them

And agreed not the time for Montreal to acquire a player like DeBrincat and they're already have Caufield so they should target a different player when it's time to do so
