If real life TK has no intention to sign long term with the Flyers but ADB does, then you take it but we don't know these things. I would rather have TK too considering contracts

Id rather not have ADB for 9mm a year even if TK won't sign long term. That cap space will be extremely valuable instead of signing a guy who doesn't deserve that big of a contract.

I'd rather pay Debrincat $9m vs paying Nylander $10m.. I don't really get why people are saying Debrincat isn't worth the $9m range. I would say Debrincats season in Ottawa was a lot of changes to adapt to and I don't think his numbers quite relay how well he played last year. He easily could've have gotten 35 goals if he had a bit more luck on his side with posts. Obviously that doesn't matter just my opinion. Everyone is arguing other bad contracts with "the cap is going up" well if it's going up it just means Debrincat will be at a good deal of a contract. Only way I see Flyers be totally against the trade is if they fully commit to the rebuild. Even then Debrincat could fit in the timeline depending on how they go about it. I know as a sens fan I'd so excited to have Tkachuk and TK on the same team. TK plays a hard and passionate game. He'd absolute bring some more grit and heart to the team.

Debrincat:
25 yrs old, 373 career points (reg season only), 450 games played he is asking for around $9m.

Nylander:
27 yrs old, 390 career points (reg season only), 471 games played he is asking for north of $10m.

Yeah but the cap will rise a good chunk next year. Flyers will have a lot of cap space and not many good players to re-sign... They can easily afford a guy like ADB going forward. Where else are you going to get expensive players?

There will be free agents next year and the year after and even the year after. ADB isn't the right guy for our team right now and I don't really think he's worth that contract, even in the future. The Flyers have always been viewed as a destination in the past and once we get cap space it won't be a matter of IF, it'll be WHEN.

I'm not even a DeBrincat fan and was not that happy when the Sens got him (because I knew the other mistakes the GM did to get him) but you don't think that the guy who is 30th in pts and 14th in goals since 2018-19 is worth 8 M$ a year?

No, no I don't. If I were a GM I wouldn't give him a long term contract.

Hmm, we seem to not talk about the same thing... I was talking about dollars, you're talking about term

But aren't they inclusive of each other? 1. Why would we sign him to a 9mm contract but only for one or two years? So we have to pay him more when the cap goes up and he's a UFA again? 2. If he doesn't like a short term deal, then you'd have to sign him long term anyway.

I wouldn't want him regarding the dollars nor the term
