Muzzin doesn't affect the Leafs cap so there is no reason to trade hm. Nothing in for Seattle...especially long term and cap this season.

IDGAF about the rest. I don't have an opinion on anything else.

You don’t understand LTIR if you think that statement is true. Also Kraken have been reported as interested in Nylander and are very likely to pursue him in free agency if he were to come available. They need a gamebreaker, so I think they’d be happy to have him at 10m in a sign and trade

Reported where?

Kraken needing a game breaker might be a bit exaggerated. Like to have one, sure. They had no issues scoring last season, all throughout their lineup, though such results could be difficult repeating so a truly elite add might be welcome depending on acquisition cost and contract.

To that point, I think Francis would be quite unhappy signing a winger for 10 million per season, actually. Especially with the added loss of their top RD with a great contract.

But Muzzin has one season left and you didn't add anyone else to LTIR. Given that he has serious spine/neck/brain issues, there's been no word he wants (or can get cleared) off of LTIR, unlike Murray, who is convinced that the facts and experience are wrong and he will be back to his 2016 form.

You want elite skill to run the powerplay? You know.. that powerplay that was 21st in the league? Well that doesn't grow on trees. What options are there? Debrincats an option, what will he cost them? And Nylanders better so…

You have to be cap compliant to start the season and THEN place that player on LTIR pending a physical. Leafs might not have that luxury. A team like the sens however, who are getting over the hump to being contenders, can sit with 5m on LTIR, accrue cap space, and then make a move at the deadline if their season goes well. Makes sense for them. If the price isnt right that’s a different discussion, but it makes sense for leafs to move muzzin to a fringe contender

Seems you're getting your back up. No need. Again, where was this reported, as you said?

Nylander is a good player, no doubt. But is he 10 million worth? Doubtful. Leafs fans obviously don't think so. By looking at your trade package, Toronto would value a solid RD and cap space more than keeping Nylander in the fold, and that's totally understandable . . . What I'm saying is I think Seattle would, also, and would pass on this trade, IMO.

Agreed, PP needs improvement, which is where the reports on their interest in Karlsson are coming from.

Lol! Mid!! . . . but 1 win away from conference finals in their second year of existence! Seattle's very content being just what they are, I think!

look I don't have a dog in this fight (beyond demanding that the trade should be 1 for 1 for maximum laffs)

BUT

i wouldn't be trying to dunk on another franchise about being "mid" when that team has the exact same amount of playoff series wins (1) as your team does in the last 18 years - despite the fact that they didn't actually exist for 16 of those 18 years

That’s how the league sells franchises, its really not that spectacular. But if you’re legitimately comparing the kraken with the leafs as being the same caliber than idk how to continue a serious conversation with you
