They aren’t doing it for free. The worse the contract the more you have to give as incentive. This contract isn’t awful. Just unnecessary for tampa to have. 1 mil for 1 year Doesn’t warrant our 2nd round pick

Not to mention Myers can be dumped to the AHL for only 250k in cap hit if a team wanted to risk him through waivers and he was unclaimed. I could see a 5th or a 6th, but nothing of much greater value to move him.
