Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Berggren, Jonatan
  2. Söderblom, Elmer
  3. 2024 1st round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
I assume this will be more palatable for Detroit fans. You don't lose any of your top propsects like Raymond, Kasper, ASP, Danielson, Wallinder, Edvinsson and can still pickup Nylander who can be your 1RW for the next 6years, likely falls down the lineup after that.

The top 10 protected pick also helps you as it can fall back if Nylander, Ghost, Holl, Sprong aren't enough to get you into the playoffs.
DET
  1. Nylander, William
Additional Details:
Comes with extension (whatever he agrees with Detroit)

Top 10 Protected pick
2.
TOR
  1. Schmaltz, Nick
Additional Details:
Arizona likely needs to move this contract. It's one of those ones where they did low salary in the early years and high in the later. Salary goes up to $8M a year which they likely won't want to pay.

Lafferty was rumoured to be going for a 2nd last year after playing up the lineup in Chicago. Could be a sneakily good player for them to get, put into Schmaltz's role and if he can replicate his production from Chicago they could get a 2nd/3rd for him if someone sees him as a solid 3rd line guy. He can move up and played 2nd line minutes for the Leafs last year. Keefe just didn't really seem to like him.
ARI
  1. Lafferty, Sam
  2. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
3.
TOR
  1. Larsson, Adam
Additional Details:
Seattle have a logjam on the backend. Larsson is someone they may consider moving out or Oleksiak to clear up space in the top 4.

Murray was better than all of their goalies last year by every statistic other than games played so I he could genuinely be an upgrade for them.

Robertson, the 1st and 3rd cover the negative value on Murray plus the value on Larsson
SEA
  1. Murray, Matt
  2. Robertson, Nicholas
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (NYI)
  4. 2026 1st round pick (TOR)
4.
TOR
  1. Seeler, Nick
Additional Details:
Both are just assets for Phili to trade at the deadline. I'm better that Brodie will go for more (assuming Phili retain 50%) for the leafs its a downgrade to save on the cap.
5.

This is probably one of the more well thought out teams I've seen on here. AZ seems a bit tough, but you're right, even for their multiyear signings so for this year...it's all back-end stuff. And yeah DET might be rough for fans, but the return is decent and Yzerman did just give away a TON of money. Ghost, $4.15M, Holl $3.4...FOR 3 YEARS, JT $5.1M. I'm not exactly sure what happened in DET this past year, but those are big dollars for each of those players.

The Seattle trade creates a logjam on the VERY back end, with 4 goalies and over 13 million spent at that position. Don't think it makes sense for Seattle in the least . . . especially if asked to subtract their top RHD. I know Toronto wants something back if parting with a 1st to unload Murray, but it's a non-starter, IMO. In general, 'tis a great build, though . . . Like the thought and detail you put into it.

Yeah this would be painful which means it's probably a good trade. As far as the signings go were still going to have 39 million dollars next year without the cap going up a cent. I didn't like the Holl signing but we needed a RD and apparently we tried with a few other guys first and they said no.

Yea, the more I think of it, Detroit is a great fit based on their needs and.if they can make the deal without losing Raymond, Kasper, ASP, Danielson, Wallinder, Edvinsson I think they let the Leafs (or Ottawa in a Debrincat trade) pick either 3 other prospects or 2 + protected 1st.

I would do this deal for the Flyers so York has a stable partner and they can flip at the deadline for more than Seeler
