I can't see NSH being a buyer on Girard, when they already have so many LD with term.

Less likely to after you bought out Nichuskin in favour of Tarasenko tbh

It was a better team before you bought out Val and traded Girard.

Gamble on Johansen will back fire, I think. Gotta wonder why would Preds would eat 50% just to dump him for nothing; dude is washed. Plus nuchushkin situation, I think they’ll underwhelm this year

i mean johansen will perform just as good as compher last season, i don't think anyone is realy worried about that, plus we have colton who is similar to compher so center is just as good if not better than last season already. Nichuskin missed half the season last year and they still won the div so i doubt they underwhelm anymore than last years first round exit

Compher >> Johansen, especially on the speed side of things. Avs always struck me as a really fast team; lost a lot of that with Johansen & Colton replacing Compher & newhook

Even with the additions of RyJo and Colton, the Avs are still fast. Wood is one of the fastest skaters in the NHL. The Avs prioritized adding some size to complement their speed. Something that was obviously lacking with no Landeskog and Val against Seattle.

Yeah, fair enough. I was thinking he plays right side and becomes QB for our 2nd PP unit.

Feel like he could get bought out over that investigation if charges are pressed. It's not a good look for the team.

What investigation? There is no pending investigation with the city of Seattle and the NHL has stated that they know what happened and believe the situation was handled appropriately by the team. Val is fully cleared to return to action.

The matters already closed. It’s been reported that no one got charged with a crime and that no charges were going to be pressed. But there’s no ignoring the situation was handled poorly.

Nonetheless I’m sure way worse things happen everyday behind the scenes that we don’t even hear about (not going into details here for obvious reasons).

At the end of the day, there’s no cut him loose due to “bad look” narrative here. Remember when Matthews pulled his pants down and mooned that female security guard? Did the leafs cut Matthews loose to save themselves the poor media attention?

Here ya go:

https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2019/09/24/report-auston-matthews-dropped-his-pants-bent-over-and-grabbed-his-buttocks-towards-female-security-guard/

Matthews did get passed over for captaincy after the incident, so he didn't go completely without repercussions from the team.
