Leafs didn’t make trade for Laughton with 2023 1st, no reason they would for 2024 1st. He’s still a grinder, and they are capped out.

The flyers rejected that trade in a deeper draft. With that thinking, you'd have to add more than just the 1st in a weaker draft.

I don’t know (of course neither do you) what was offered or by whom. Personally I think it is a massive overpay for a grinder bottom 6 type. But the fact it didn’t happen in summer - when the Leafs had cap room makes it even more unlikely now when they are capped out.
