i meant that this is what they should have done in the offseason so the trade is equal to free agency signing so in this case they resign ghost and sign oreilly instead of signing orlov and bunting

He’s having double hip surgery so I don’t even think he’ll play this year. Even if he was healthy I think they’d sign him to a 1m deal to be their 12/13F at best.

Market isn’t there for him. I was very excited when it was speculated he was signing with us but after this whole ordeal it’s clear something odd is going on. Maybe it’s easily explained and not a big deal but also don’t really want somebody here if they don’t want to be here.

I'd rather have the players we got imo. I will say Orlov's contract is a bit rich and i wish we could've gotten him 1-2 mil cheaper, but i'd still take him over Ghost and who knows, maybe the canes still have something up their sleeve with Skjei or Pesce and make that signing make more sense. And I like Bunting's fit better than O'Reilly imo. Could see them taking a flier on Zadina.
