I read a lot of Sens fans comments (on another forum mainly) and I don't remember reading that much. Maybe some thought he would still extend but personally I didn't really wanted to acquire him in the first place. The price paid to get him was not too high so I was ok with it but I wanted was to extend Nick Paul and Connor Brown and go after a RHD with the 7th OA pick instead (well, I also wanted to trade the 10th OA pick from 2021 for that reason)

I wouldn't mind adding Garland but not the full 4.95 AAV. If we could upgrade Joseph (average bottom-6 forward) to Garland (who would be an high end bottom-6 forward), I would do it. But that's an additional 2.0 AAV so I wouldn't pay a ton for that upgrade. "AAV" is very valuable these days.
