Description
Now, this one is out there(I'll blame it on on offseason boredom). But hear me out...
NOTE*Ik abt the 3 retention slot rule, this is a hokey dokey "multiple possibilities" acgm.

Trade 1.
With Koochey coming in, and that Carolina system(and Vegas to note) just showing that it doesn't take a star goalie to go far, I'd think at least one of their g prospects is easier to let go. Saw a similar Dvo to CAR trade a little while back w/out the g prospects.

Trade 2.
Looking back on this one, it ain't my best work(this whole acgm too). Despite everyone on here saying Hoffman is garbage...(diss me now) it's really his contract. He's decent at 50%. Savvy now is imo underrated, but overrated by other Habs fans. He's slow and old, Ik. However, he has tons of upside offensively and defensively. Even w/out those flashes hes still reliable.

Trade 3.
This is the furthest out there trade that takes multiple estranged theories to work out.
Scenario:Knight doesn't start the season, and is still in the PA program->Stolarz is the 1B behind a streaky Bob->With no Lyon, there's basically no proven 3 guy->They look for a solid, semi reliable guy in Allen at a cheaper price(Veggie is still probably a better option)->Knight and a bad contract(both risks) for a solid backup, statistical God RHD, a high upside prospect, and a 2nd.

This is a cry for help, give me something Kent, I'm begging your shiny, once luscious head to keep working hard.

Canucks pass easily. It’s not even close

Podkolzin >>>>>>>>> Hoffman. No interest in Hoffman at all, don’t want him in our locker room

1 year of Myers > 2 years of Savard. Myers has been better than Savard the last 3 seasons. No need to take the extra year of bad cap

Upgrading a 4th to a 3rd doesn’t come close to making up the difference

I think the CAR trade is a stretch. We could probably pull Suz & the 4th (maybe a 3rd if its a year or two out) but I don't think much more than that at this point.

V Pod is the most desirable piece in the VAN trade and I just don't see them having interest. Myers + 3rd for Savard sure, Hoffman 50% + 4th for Pod though? Don't think it's enough.

idk and idc about the FLA trade.

I think that Carolina trade would be fine. I'd imagine the Hurricanes would rather trade Quapp over Vondras because he is a year older, but I know nothing about either prospect so other Canes fans can tell me why I'm wrong.

That being said, teams only have 3 retention slots and you are using 4, so one of these trades wouldn't go through or the return will be lower (I'm guessing the Vancouver trade based on their responses).

I get it, terrible. But I'm seriously not convinced that Podkolzin warrants that much besides him being drafted so high. He hasn't lived up to it yet, but if they're still betting on him then fine. I also get that Hoffman is considered hot smelly garbage, but his point production was the same as Alex Newhook's if that means anything. End of the day, I get it.

Hoffman is 11 years older than Newhook, can’t play C, has been at the forefront of locker room issues in the past, and is not good defensively. He has zero value to the Canucks. Yes Podkolzin struggled last year but we’re still developing him. It would be like me suggesting Sheldon Dries for Slafkovsky because Dries produced better last season and Slafkovsky doesn’t warrant that much besides him being drafted so high

I'm not saying it's an awful trade but I do think it's a bit light for fair value. It may not be Podkolzin's existing stats or talent but it's the still available perceived potential he's believed to possess that we'd be acquiring. Newhook hasn't really been lights our either but we ponied up a 1st & a 2nd because the potential is still there, whether those two guys are on the same level can be debated I'm sure though.

Hoffman might be considered hot smelly garbage that nobody wants but the same thing was said about Eddy forever so take that for what it's worth I suppose.
