TBL final moves

Created by: JTBF81
Team: 2023-24 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 15, 2023
Published: Jul. 15, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
After the overpay on Jeannot, provided Tampa is looking at running at least a 22 player roster to start, adding a middle 6 F like Suter or Comtois could be thelr best option..The $ isn't likely there anymore.for Tatar or trading for someone such as Niederreiter(unless they are willing to roll with 21). With Suter or Comtois, they'll have extra depth in the middle/bottom 6 and be able to mix lines to see.what works best at the start of the year.

Don't worry Barre-Boulet will be on Waivers for the 6th time in 3 years come end of training camp.

He may or may not stick, but his play in Syracuse, especially this past season, has more than likely put him at the top of the list for promotion. There are a few others that he'll need to beat out in camp/preseason, but should he get the spot, he'll be best used in a scoring line role.

ABB has proven to be an AHL All Star. But it hasn't translated to the NHL.

If Barre-Boulet is in the top 6 TB is on the outside looking in at the playoffs.

I don't know where Cooper puts him. He's not good enough to be in your top 6. And he's not gritty enough or good enough defensively to play in your bottom 6. He's a body you call up when there's an injury.

He's had 32 total games over 4 seasons, so it's not like he's even really been given a legit shot to see.what he can do.

You earn your ice time by forcing the coach to play you based on your play. He's never stood out to me. Granted I don't see many Tampa games. Just Playoffs and when they're playing Detroit or Toronto.

This right here and he doesn't have the Gourde drive to play up and down the lineup if need be. If a guy is only good in a "scoring line" that means he has no dog no want to in him.

And oh look, right on cue it's alt # 2(or is it 3), to once again repeat ghe same old nonsense about ABB. He's got the crystal ball out again I see as well, pronouncing Tampa will be on the outside looking in if ABB is in the top 6....

He had magbe a quarter season, if that, in a top 6 role 3 or 4 years ago. By all accounts, he's made big improvemwnts to his game lately, and if he's going to break through, it's now. If Tampa isn't willing to give him a chance this year, they should trade him or just let him walk so he can get a chna e with someone else. He has one year left on his deal, so this is his last chance with Tampa, but most signs from hos latest season indicate he's perhaps figured some things out.

For every Yanni Gourde who Breaks out at 26 there are thousands who don't . Please don't try to sell people Barre-Boulet has Gourde's motor or desire

Cooper never gives young players a chance, it's one of the main reasons Tampa lost JAM, Verheaghe, Raddysh, and probabaly Colton. Now in some cases, Tampa had the depth ahead of them and they wanted a better opportunity elsewhere, or were traded and now may get that role, but the point remains, Cooper rarely, if ever, gives many younger players a real chance e over one of his "boys".

Since the depth is.no longer as prominent, it seemed as though Colton amd ljmely ABB(or another Crunch F) were likely to get increased time, but prioritizing Jeannot ended any cheaper e of keeping g Cton or Killorn I guess, so ABB could definitely be in line, if he earns it. If not, there are others(Merela, Goncalves, maybe Esmunds or Fortier), but I see ABB as the frontrunner. He could go on the 3rd line if they go with a faster line that has more scoring g touch, amd I figure there will be some line.blensi g early on regardless of who gets the spot.
