If these players are not signed by August 15th, they become UFAs. Some of these players look solid and I would love to see them added to our prospect pool. All these players are from the NCAA.

Problem is the Pens, assuming they sign O’Connor and send Pickering back to juniors and Pieniniemi back to Finland, will still have 48/50 contracts. They would have to shed some of Hextall’s dead weight contracts like Frasca, Andonovski, Glover, and St Ivany to make room for any more UFAs.

Jay O’Brien was literally an average player in his 5th year of college as basically a man playing against children. There’s a reason that he wasn’t signed by the Flyers for as bad as they are

Mastrosimone is a free agent August 15th and he played at BU for 3 seasons as well.

O'Brien is nothing. He probably ends up being nothing more than a career AHL guy at best.

I think Mastro could be an option for a metro team

That's fair. At least you guys will get a 2nd round pick out of not signing him.

Very true. I am assuming we manage to lower our contract total with the Karlsson trade (if it happens), but we definitely need to move out contracts.

I mean yeah I guess technically it can’t hurt for you to sign him because ur prospect pool is so shallow but at the same time he’s gonna be 24 I wouldn’t really even call him a prospect anymore lol he’s just a player at this point and not a very good one at that it seems

Similar to petro (goalie with TOR) he just doesn’t have an interest in Detroit. Opposite of DeBrincat lol
