Well, you seemed to have underpaid for Horvat in the trade and in the AAV. He is going to get more than Wennberg, something like 40/6

    Wennberg:
    '14-15 stats: 68 GP, 4G - 16A - 20pts
    '15-16 stats: 69 GP, 8G - 32A - 40pts
    '16-17 stats: 80 GP, 13G - 46A - 59pts
    3 year PPG: .57

    Horvat:
    14-15 stats: 68 GP, 13G - 12A - 25pts
    '15-16 stats: 81 GP, 16G - 24A - 40pts
    '16-17 stats: 82 GP, 20G - 32A - 52pts
    3 year PPG: .50

Why in the world would Horvat get more than Wennberg? I'm genuinely curious how you could come to such a conclusion. If anything, they'd get the same. But that's not as likely, as Wennberg's production is bound to increase even further with Panarin on his wing and it would probably cost less long-term to bridge Horvat and lock Wennberg in long-term.

Horvat put up those numbers on a god awful team with mainly bottom 6 wingers and was played more ofteb than not in the defensive zone that's why he gets more than Wennberg

And this is why you're posting on a message board and not running an actual NHL team.

1.) Points do not directly equivocate to AAV. You haven't taken into account the advanced analytics that both players have.

Bo Horvat as a career Point Shares of 11.1 compared to Alex Wennberg's 9.3. Horvat has played on a terrible team with no offensive help besides the washed Sedin twins and old man Loui Eriksson. Wennberg has young talent that he can be paired with ; Atkinson/Jenner/Saad/Foligno compared to Horvat, who can be paired with ; well...not really anyone too good.

Horvat has a higher team shooting percentage when he is on the ice, compared to Wennberg (8.6 to 8.3)

Wennberg has a higher CORSI FOR %, but then again, he plays with better players and that is easier to come by. Connor Sheary and Jake Guentzel both have higher CORSI FOR % and they play besides the best player in the league.
