Sure why not? Holl can be a 3.4 mil 7D. Then when Edvinsson returns Chiarot and his 4.75 mil can sit in the GM box with Yzerman.

Buyout option for Granlund is past.

That's why he is always included in every single EK65 trade.

Holl played over 20 minutes a game for a top 5 defensive team in the league. I would say he should comfortably play 16-18 minutes a game. In a perfect world he slots around your 5th best dman. He is definitely not a 7. 3.4m x 3 is very reasonable for him.

If you retain 50% on Rutta, I would consider this trade. Leafs are tight against the cap as is.

P.S odds are Dubas is going to start the year with a 20 man roster. 21 at most. Count on it.

How did a do nothing nobody like O'Conner get a salary arbitration? what is he fighting for>? a 1 way contract instead of a 2 way contract.

Well every player becomes arbitration eligible if they don’t sign a contract that buys out those years. I assume he was probably asked to go to arbitration and they’d settle at what he wants before hand but it buys them more time and a backup option for an EK trade

Shady... then again the Leafs are using the same trick with Sammy (prolonging the buyout of Murray), except Sammy can get a good raise, O'Connor is a scratch your head arbitration.

He's really not made to play for Pittsburgh at all, Hextall is just brain dead.

Not really shady. DOC could have said no. I mean arbitration benefits the player, not the organization. It’s not really a waste either because you only are arb eligible as an RFA. He is like a year away from UFA. Might as well use it if it can get you what you want as a player.
