Pens have no cap space and have a hard enough time clearing it currently probs wont add to the issue before fixing the issue.

Canes aren’t going to swap Necas for Nylander, and Robertson and a 3rd isn’t enough to get Turbo. Canes will just bet on Turbo having a bounce back year.

Necas is a 40 point player so saying that they won't swap a 40 point player for an 80 point player is funny

To say Necas is 40 is more than funny, it's total falsehood, deliberately written to trying to justify a silly trade Last season Necas 71 points. Pro rated in NHL games played. over 82 games ...he's a 50 point player.
It's a horrid trade for the Canes for one year of Nylander

Nylander would need to extend with the Canes for an AAV starting with an $8 for them to trade for him. In other words - not happening

Why do you want to trade for him then? Ignoring the fact that you blatantly lied for a second.

Necas, teuvo and a first to third pick from Carolina for Nylander and Robertson is probably more sensible no pick added to Nylander in any trade probably unless it's a much bigger package

There was chatter today on Toronto radio what if nylander has a 40 goal season and close to 100 points again at that point next season it could be 11M per....more reason why an extension right now that isn't 10M wherever he plays isn't happening and I don't blame him

You have the picks going the wrong way in the Brodie trade. The pens already have at least 5 nhl LHD and 5 nhl RHD. Toronto needs to clear cap space and if you want the pens to take another high priced D, then Toronto would have to take cap back (Granlund) or send the pens picks to buy him out for them.

No leaf fans want Granlund I say flipping him for Brodie is smart simply because the guy is still young but I get shredded on that opinion..

Good players never get cheaper.

I can’t see the Canes paying Nylander more than Aho, who sounds like he’s looking at $9.5 x 8 as his next deal.

Nylander > Necas & Terevainen is being paid $5.5M to kill penalties (23 points at 5v5 last year, atrocious). No way leafs add picks in this trade

What logical reason would Pitt make that trade with Toronto. If they truly feel they needed a D upgrade, they would just trade the same pick that Toronto did and get back the better, cheaper, younger, longer signed player, and save a pick in the process.

Bahaha no one is taking Granlund, he would fit in perfectly with Dubas' love for soft players

Until he does it consistently and hit 70+ points for the next season or two, he's a 40 point player

I’m so confused - why are you trading for him. He doesn’t hit anyone either. Aren’t you the team toughness guy???

We need some of his offence replaced or at least 80%

Well none of this matters until Nylander is willing to take a extension with an AAV in the 8’s which isn’t happening. Time to find a different team.

I think he’d be a good risk for the right situation. Granlund is a top 6 or bust player. He wasn’t awful in Nashville playing in the top 6. Just not worth 5 million. If he played in Toronto and fed off Matthews, Nylander, and Marner he could exponentially raise his trade value next offseason and the leafs may make a killing off it.
