Boucher is merely a comparable to Crouse, and you're going to need to pay a little premium to get out of the Joseph contract.
Crouse alone would probably cost closer to a first anyway.

This proposal is very reasonable but "pay a little premium to get out of the Joseph contract"?

I mean, do people actually think he's a 2.95 AAV cap dump?

Since the minimum NHL salary is 775K$, he could not be more than a 2.175 dump

I don't think a guy who has among the best PK metrics in the league over the last 3-4 years is worth nothing. And he has a career 0.35 PPG (29 pts per 82 games) despite being buried in Tampa's depth for most of his career so far.

I would pay to upgrade Joseph to Crouse, but I would not pay to get rid of Joseph AND to get Crouse. Because that's not how NHL players are valued in the NHL. Each team value them at a certain amount and in case of a hockey trade, you pay for the difference. When it's for futures, you pay for the value of the player.

Nothing Joseph brings to the bottom 6 is worth near 3m in term. The idea was to shed his cap, bring in Crouse, then bringing in Suter (who’s a center and a clear upgrade to Joseph) to upgrade the bottom 6.

Arizona likely wouldn’t want Joseph either, which is why I’m paying to move him. He stinks.

Not based on anything. He didn't stink at all in Tampa and even when he first joined the Sens, everyone was high on him.

Yes good defensive players with elite PK metrics are worth something. Plus he has averaged 29 pts per 82 games in his career, despite being buried in Tampa's depth

Last season, which was clearly not his best, he had the 290th highest PPG among forwards who played at least 41 games. Now divide that per 32 teams... Low end 3rd line production

Sure he's overpaid but it's really not as big as CF has been weirdly building up. It's not like Joseph was worth minus (-) 2.95 and Crouse plus (+) 4.3, that's not how the reality works

Also, acting like 45 pts was Ovechkin's level while 30 pts was nothing is a bit ridiculous

All that being said, I find your value between the 2 (1st + Boucher + 4th) to be more reasonable/realistic
