Essentially the Carolina trade is a Trouba for Trouba trade (with I'm assuming what will be similar salaries for the year). The 1st is to soften the blow since I think Trouba doesn't fit offensively with the Rangers, but definitely fits defensively with Carolina. Drury is essentially a throw in which is why the first plus some retention on Trouba is added. The Arizona trade is to make sure Goodrow is bought out so he can sign wherever he wants to - I feel like there are enough pieces there for Arizona to at least be tempted.

Definitely different but seems kinda pointless when Schneider is going to need an opportunity in the top 6. I feel like if trouba is traded its to make space for Schneider

If The Rangers pay another team to bring Trouba’s hit to 4-4.5mil, Canes accept. As is, they might accept if Pesce negotiations take a turn for the worse. Very torn on this one. Exceptionally dependent on whether or not Trouba is willing to waive his NMC for Carolina, or even at all.

Do the real money math on the buyout...do you honestly think the spare parts you threw in there for him is worth that money?? Cheaper players have gone for 1sts and 2nds. This is just doing the Rangers a favor.

Alex Newhook, who struggled more than Laf to find his footing, just got 2.9 from Montreal. I know KK signed for less last year, but the landscape is changing. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see how he could take anything under 3.

Trouba, Kreider & Goodrow, when the time comes, will need retention to move

That isn't enough to take on Trouba. You want Pesce and Drury too? Maybe start with Chytil, that clears the cap the Rangers would need for Pesce.

This is awful for AZ - get guy to buyout - will cost 11m over 8 yrs then drop in the draft to get a going on 23 yo undersized AHL D and a 22yo G prospect
AZ easy pass

Like mentioned above, if Pesce's extention talks go south and a 3rd team gets involved to retain Trouba down to 4-5, its possible. But there the very likely scenario that Trouba just straight up shoots this trade down. Interesting idea though.
