That's not true... that's actually quite an intriguing deal and I'd switch the other player going to the canes but this is a pretty good deal... I'm not psyched about giving up Necas but this seems like a pretty fair deal

Can just send Capobianco to the minors for full cap relief, no one is likely to claim him anyway.

Necas is nice, but the Jets don't move Connor for him.

idk that’s not a bad deal, connor’s obviously more established but necas is younger and is coming into his own quite nicely as well. id prob do this if it was a 1st instead of a 3rd

All things considered I felt the 2 players with age and salary that a 1st might be pushing it.

Yeah, I don't know. Necas has had one good year and even at that couldn't break 30 goals or a PPG and will be looking for a large raise. I'm not gambling a consistent 30 goal scorer on a fantastic contract to buy high on a player with one good year to his name.

It would need to be a better prospect than Lucius and would need to be the 1st as you said, for the Jets to look at it imo. They just have no reason to move Connor. So I can't see an offer that is only "fair" doing it.

See... this is interesting. Carolina probably do this because of the term left on Connors deal, but I think it needs tweaks. Harkins is not sniffing Carolina's bottom six, he adds no value, and adding that much to Necas is probably a slight overpayment. Maybe make it a higher pick going back to Carolina? You could then swap the Canes 2nd with the Philly 2nd which is basically a late 1st too. There's certainly a basis here for the Canes.

yup you both make good points about how consistent connor is, necas’ ability to perform in the future, and how much carolina should and would be comfortable paying for him. definitely has the potential to benefit both teams tho
