Trade for Lafrenière, move him to the right on Suzuki’s line. It may be an overpriced trade, but Gorton picked him so he may still believe in him.

Allen to Anaheim could be beneficial for both teams since they need a good backup goalie until Dostal is ready in 2 years. In the meant He can be moved up if Allen injured himself. Anaheim have the space and needs.

Here are some threads showing what Habs fans perceive Murray's value as: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4461924, https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4461664... Both showcasing Murray as a significant cap dump where it takes a lot to dump, compared to Allen going for even a 3rd... despite Murray having the better contract

If you want to post 50 other treads and how we discuss things with other people trying to figure out how deals are done from their perspective.. you need a life…

You clearly have no clue what this site is all about, and have issues you need to take care of.

And if you want to talk numbers about Allen vs Murray.. omg..
Murray plays for a contender, he couldn’t get below a 3.01 GAA, and better than a .903… at OVER 4.6M..

His two much younger counterparts had 2.16 0.932 (Woll) and 2.33 0.919 (Samsonov) with the same team.. Now they are over their capacity to sign Samsonov and need an option to move Murray.. so yeah he’s a major cap dump when you try to keep your best goalie and currently can’t even offer him a contract.

Allen is one of the best second goalies in the league. He isn’t a first but he had too play as one last year and on a subpar team, yet managed to leverage a 3.55 0.891… he had 2 NHL defenseman and 4 prospects in front of him.. attack, he had a mix of inexperienced players, crap loads of player injuries etc.. yet managed that. Yes, Allen is a better deal than Murray who’s a flop, and by the NHL experts and commentators was a huge error as of day one of signing him

Ps that even third as you say is the worst of their third on a team who need a second goalie until their other one gets prepped up. But clearly you’re more obsessed with reading 50 other posts than looking at these one at a time with different options.

Allen may be a fine backup goalie, overpaid for that role as he is paid to be a tandem, but at least he stays healthy unlike Murray, so you are at least getting what you pay for.

However Dostal is ready for the backup role now, so we really have no reason to acquire Allen. Even if he wasn't ready yet, he's only got one more season of waivers eligibility, Allen has two seasons left on his deal.

If you don’t have an understanding of who Ylonen and Struble are, then don’t comment. Laf is a less than 40pts player right now and potentially a 50-60 max the way he’s going.

So yeah.. I’m actually overpaying them one this trade. Move on if you have nothing to say.

It was super easy to find those threads: Select Montreal Canadiens filter: then look for the Leafs logo bc Habs fans are either do Nylander for Anderson, or Murray as this 1st round pick cap dump...

As for Murray vs Allen: Murray is far better in save % and GAA with Woll also being the better 2nd goalie and Swagman being overall the best 2nd goalie... So get your facts straight before calling your cap dump with term valuable

+Murray can be moved to LTIR and then just offer Sammy a contract... It's not this big hassle as you make it out to be... Allen isn't better than the Leafs' 3rd best goalie by GAA and save %, that's a fact... Save percentage has nothing to do with how good your team is but how good you are as a goalie, another fact

again, if Anaheim was looking for a goalie and had the option of 3.01 and .903 vs 3.55 and .891 with both making similar money but 1 with less term, meaning you can sign him to a cheaper contract if needed for another year... It's obvious which one they'll take

My view is that Dostal isn’t ready this year, I agree he may be the years after and by that time Ana could buy-out Allen or trade with cap retention. But next year Dostal needs to see lots of pucks and doesn’t need to be over pressured and hit on his confidence in the NHL. Let him play the AHL full on, get his legs ready. HABS messed up on Primeau, hopefully ANA won’t make the same mistake.

Allen is an excellent mentor, he could be very valuable for them as he was for the Habs last and previous year.

Again, I’m not looking at other AGM. Not happy? Move to another one and troll elsewhere.

Ps adding you to the ignorant list. I don’t have time to go and read what everyone else are doing. Get a life.

I'm not big on Laf, but the Rangers have not developed him well, but getting two even less developed guys would be the bad move.

If you look at Ylonen he’s ready and will cost less. He has a better PPG than Lafreniere and played half the games last year.

He’ll have the same return for less money.

Reminder that I’m on’y proposing this because of his ties to Gorton. Personally I feel it could be beneficial for him to move on, and NYR get a ready to go second/third liner in Ylonen.

Add Struble to the mix and NYR have a very talented Dman in two years.

Pitlick is for depth, Habs have enough at this time and NYR could benefit from another NHLer under 2M for replacement.

Add the Flames 1st and it could be beneficial on another level for them.

So in the end, they’re not getting less than him. They’re getting him and plus.

We can agree to disagree is all. The ppg on such a small sample size just does nothing for me, and I say that as a Devil fan. I'd be happy if the Rangers did this move.

He's got just shy of 100 AHL games played at this point, and good numbers throughout all three seasons down there. He's ready for the NHL, only reason to consider keeping him down is if we're not going to improve on last year's defense and throw Gibson and his crease mates to the wolves, again.
