All comes down to if Carolina is willing and able to give Nylander an extension imo

It’s ABSURD to think Chicago would do that

They’re essentially taking Murray at $8.25mil bc they’re keeping $2mil of Nylander- and for ONLY a 2nd ?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Good luck with that nonsense

Flyers decline. I’d rather have a 1st and a 2nd for Laughton than this offer and they already turned the 1st and 2nd down so this isn’t enough.

Weird reaction. It's all about precedent. Last year, Chicago took on Mrazek's 7.6 mill (8.6 in actual salary) contract to move up about 8 spots from mid thirties to high twenties. So yes, I can see Chicago, a cap floor team, paying well for a mid thirties draft pick from philly.

That's fair. I imagine though with picks +/- Robertson, you can conceivably get laughton.

Robertson has no value until he can stay healthy. I would do Laughton for a 1st, 3rd, Robertson. But again Danny turned down a 1st and 2nd for Laughton which is already an overpay so realistically that just means he doesn’t want to trade him

If Pesce for Nylander was going to happen, it would have happened in the last 5-6 years. Both players have grown more important to their respective teams, so why would the status quo change?

Lots of reasons. The needs of the team have changed, better players in the pipeline, culture sours, talks with agents don't move forward. Things often change in the last year of contracts.

Nah, wishful thinking

And it’s a big difference getting a pick in the 20s,
VS a late 2nd

“Homer” logic at its finest here, Lol

Bc Leafs fans on here are DESPERATELY trying to get something of value for Nylander before he walks for nothing after this season

I don't know. Desperate sounds more like trolling the comments section on capfriendly.
