    He also played 25 games last year and had experienced significant decline with the Flames.

    He hasn't been that guy since 2018. He also hasn't played a full season since 16-17.
    He managed a whole 25 games and 17pts last year and 23 the year before. That doesn't exactly scream 1st Rd pick worthy
    Pretty sure my point of view is shared by almost all non-Habs fans

    Monahan hasn't had a 50 point season since 2019-20... No need to say more

    As a player I think you're mixing the current Monahan with the one he was 5 years ago...

    Am I reading this right? The Sharks get three 1sts, two 2nds, Petterson, Pickering, and Blomqvist for Karlsson with nothing retained? Hmmm. That is crazy. Throw in Yager and another 1st and they might consider it.

    That is the worst Karl trade I've ever seen.

    Take away Pickering, the 3 1sts, and both 2nds, and it is still too much for Karl with no retention.

    Given the Pens timeline, 2 20 year olds who have never played an NHL game (one is signed in Russia through the 25 season!!) does nothing for the team. Neither has really proven themselves at the top level in their countries either, although a decent AHL season by Bisen shows some promise. Basically it's 3 maybes for a 40 goal/90 pt guy. Need some proven talent coming back. If we were rebuilding, that may be a different story

    Some people's player valuations are insane. They keep it interesting. Just look at the guy who called me crazy for saying a 2nd and 3rd for Monahan was too much. Haha
