Sorry, but that is a terrible return for Helle. I would argue that's just slightly more than it would cost to dump Campbell alone, let alone acquire Helle

Good lord no lol.

a 1st, conditional second and the pens best prospect for rentals?

Penguins don't really have a need for Schmidt so drop him. I'd be happy to take Scheifele for the year but not at that price lol

Canucks aren’t paying a 2nd for a 4th line winger and an AHL level dman

That would be the biggest overpay of all time the jets would do that as fast as they could

Lol 2 mid 1sts for a 3 time vezina finalist? Get real. Campbell is as negative of an asset as you can get

You're dumping Granlund and getting retention, you're not getting Scheifele for less than a 1st and Pickering. Pickering being the penguins "best" propsect doesnt change his value to the rest of the league

Hey now, that 4th liner is a 3rd line staple for the Jets... 😁

That's a massive overpay by Edmonton. Hellebuyck is a rental and has never won anything on the playoffs, he isn't getting effectively 3 first round picks. McLeod is a critical part of the Oilers team going forward at 3C, expecting him plus 2 firsts is just ludicrous. Campbell would only be included so the cap works.

Let's not act like Edmonton is loving that Campbell contract...

A massive overpay, really? Name one team that would take on Campbells contract for less than a 1st?
Then it's a third line center + 1st round pick for Hellebuyck, who actually have won way more games in the playoffs than Campbell ever has.
What do you even mean with "has never won anything in the playoffs", a cup? Because that applies to most goalies in the league.
And the "effectively 3 first round picks", can you explain that aswell?

And what are the Jets? A coin flip playoff team at best. I mean, I suppose the same can be said about the Canucks, but they have stronger winger depth than the Jets

McLeod is the most valuable piece in that trade. He's 23, big, fast, scored at a 2nd line rate at 5v5 without having played with McDavid or Draisaitl, good on the PK, can PP (although doesn't get much opportunity in Edmonton as they barely play PP2), and is good defensively. And signed to a very good contract.

Honestly I'd rather have 2+ years of McLeod over 3 months of whatever improvement Hellebuyck is over Stuart Skinner.

Pens don't really have a need for Schmidt anymore - and definitely don't have the cap space for this trade

Going into the season with so many pending UFA's scares me. Best case scenario is the jets do well, keep the players past the deadline and compete for the cup. Worst case is they hold on and lose them for nothing or guys get injured or a combo of both. Part of me hopes the jets struggle and guys like Bucky, Scheifle, Nino, Demelo and Dillon can be sold off at the deadline for the best possible deals. It's scary...the jets are playing a dangerous game with players and fans
Ideally i would like Scheifle and Dillon traded before the season starts; have Bucky, Nino and Demelo resign.
Need to make room for young D and hope that a combo of Vilardi, Perfetti and Nameskov can fill the role of 1C
