None of those pieces seem appealing for WPG from BUF. They might as well just do VV and a 1st straight with NJ.

Sabres paid a lot for 3rd pair D and goalie who, maybe, is slight upgrade on position.

I'm not too sure why Buffalo would wanna help a division rival get better. Sure, a 1st round pick is nice, but it'll be at the later half of that round. Is that REALLY worth it?

IF Jersey were to get Hellebuyck, Vanacek is likely part of the package going to the Jets (along with some more Cap)

At that point, we might be able to try to get Vanacek from the Jets, bc i don’t think Jersey would wanna help us with a goalie

I don't see the point of the trade from Buffalo's POV - it's debatable how much more reliable Vanacek would be over UPL or Dillon would be over Jokiharju.
