I would still take Chabot, Sanderson, Chychrun, Zub, Brannstrom, and Hamonic over Rielly, Klingberg, Brodie, Liljegren, McCabe, and Giordano.

And you would be wrong

Bruins absolutely have the best dcore in the Atlantic and I don't think it's close. They're top 5 in the league and could certainly make the case they are higher than that

Yeah, bc Rielly obviously isn't good offensively 🤣... And even though Brodie isn't what he was... he's still fine as the 4/5 guy

Klingberg was brought in bc he's good at PP... Rielly isn't... As proven by Klingberg's Dallas numbers and Rielly's playoff number

McCabe's as tough as it gets as well. There's 5 reliable guys, can't forget about Timmins but he's not a reg. so I won't count him, compared to Boston's 4 and Tampa's 3 and they all fit their role well

Leafs will prob get a 6th guy though, just to be safe

Brodie is coming off another great year; his defensive metrics were elite (again) last year. He struggled vs Panthers but so did most of the Leafs; Reilly was on fire all playoffs. I give the Bruins the nod but Leafs are right there with Tampa imo.

Don't care about the metrics TBH... Worst case scenario, he's a fine number 4... best case, he's a great number 2 which is good when you have a bunch of other players that can also step in as that #2, Klingberg, McCabe, Lilly.

Rielly is so underrated though

If it's wrong to be wrong then it's even more wrong to not believe you're wrong for being wrong in the first place. Because doubling down on not being wrong is actually more wrong than not thinking you were wrong or are currently wrong about being wrong.

This was one of the most detailed oriented debates in history... up there with Biden's "Will you shut up man" debate (I forgot which one that was)

This debate was even more important in the grand scheme of countries and empires than the 2016 debate when Trump said, "Cuz you'd be in jail."

lol what are wings doing above TBL, BUF, and OTT?

Caps above Devs??

EDM above... oh ya, the Pacific doesn't play D

Huh? I just checked expected goals against at 5v5 last year... Pacific had 3 of the best 5 teams. LA (2), Seattle (3), Calgary (5), Vegas (11), Edmonton (12), Vancouver (21), San Jose (24), Anaheim (32).

Seems your bias is blinded by Anaheim. I'd say the Pacific is the best division defensively.

That’s what I thought

They were last year. I guess it depends on what happens with Hanifin.

They were 6th last year in xGA/60 at 5v5. If Calgary trades Hanifin Boston could push into the top-5.

lmao, I already put them at #1 in Atlantic...
Preds D is still solid, Josi is our #1 guy, McDonagh is our #2, our depth is insane as well with Fabbro, Barrie, Carrier, Stastney, Lauzon and Livingstone. Maybe the Stars d is better, but at the end of the day, I feel like the Preds have more veteran leadership in McDonagh and Josi. Same case for Wild.

I'd have Edmonton higher. They were 12th in xGA/60 last year (basically tied with Vegas) and they'll have a full season of Ekholm plus both Bouchard and Broberg will be taking on larger roles.

I'm not sure how Vegas improves to #1 in the division either, except I think Seattle overachieved and Calgary may lose Hanifin. Did Durzi make that much difference in LA? Somehow I doubt it.

Oh, meant to have Leafs among the teams rated too highly. My bad.

As for the Preds, Josi is still great but McDonough isn't a #2, he's a run of the mill top 4 guy at this point in time (even if his usage reflects that of a.#2) and chances are that he'll decline beyond that for the next season.
I like Barrie a lot and Livingstone will be interesting to watch but Fabbro and Carrier really aren't anything special, and Lauzon is genuinely bad at the NHL level.
On the whole the Preds don't have a bad D corps (it's a perfectly average one!) but the Wild and the Stars D corps blow Nashville's out of the water, at least on paper.
That's my opinion anyway.
