Norris healthy, tarasenko and giroux stay productive, and if Pinto and Greig can be consistent this team is gonna score a lot of goals

I agree. Last year being a 1 line team was brutal . If it wasn’t for the hot PP , this team would’ve likely finished bottom 7

Basically roll two line 1's, an dangerous energy line, and the line of violence.

Hopefully we don’t get injuries because I don’t want anyone from the line of violence in the top 9. That’s what happened last year and it destroyed 2 scoring lines

I could see Smejkal taking up a role up there as he is apparently capable, in which case Imama adds violence to the violence line. Blood and gore everywhere.

If Smejkal can be a 3rd line level player playing on the 4th line that could go a long way. You can even roll a Smejkal-Kastelic-Sokolov line with skill AND size

I wonder who will replace Tarasenko & Kubalik when Sanderson needs a new contract soonHuh? Will be tough to have good depth when there is no Cap space.

Not really. Get rid of Brannstrom and Forsberg if Kleven and Sogaard are ready. That clears a few mils. Plenty to go out and sign a FA.

Or, give the spots to Jarventi, Sokolov, Boucher, or Ostapchuk if any are ready.

Or use draft capital to trade for good depth on cheap contracts.

Sanderson won't be signing a 10+M contract, there will be room to do things.

But in order to sign Sokolov AND have him (or MacEwan as a scratch and not risk waivers) Pinto would need to sign for $2M and Sokolov for a league minimum.
Doable IMO.

There’s gonna be like 15 mill in cap space next year even with Sanderson signed longterm

A lot of offensive skill, should be fun to watch but still a bit like last year, really lacking in terms of 2-way play. And the current coaching staff are not the ones who can instill strong hockey systems

Well last year, losing Norris and Formenton for the whole season is what destroyed the forward group. Dorion didn't see it coming which weird since we have known about the Team Canada scandal for a while. He tried to replace Formenton with Motte but the guy is a 4th liner. And you can't just replace Norris, and it was too much to ask to Pinto.

Because of that, we finished 25th in GF% at ES which is almost an automatic no playoffs

If we kept Paul, Brown and cap space (for another 2-way forward) instead of DeBrincat, Joseph and Gambrell but we had already decided to go another route

I made an AGM (that I didn't post) with Pinto with a 4.0 AAV and Sanderson with a 7.0 AAV and the Sens had close to 7 M$ in cap space with a Top-9 spot and a 4th line spot to fill (I kept Joseph and traded Kubalik to get cap compliant in 2023-24). And I also traded Brannstrom for a young top-9 forward

Pinto at 4. AAV
Sanderson at 7.0 AAV
Brannstrom replaced by a forward at 2.0 AAV

Defense and goaltending already full (Kleven replaces Brannstrom, keep both goalies)

That leaves close to 7 M$ for a top-9 forward and a 4th liner. AND I have both Kastelic and Joseph on my 4th line, so the potential to have a strong 4th line (MacEwen 13th forward and Hamonic 7th D-man)
