I'd not move Pettesson honestly. but definitely not for anything less than a first or a better player...

Edmonton isn't interested in taking on another LD, especially without cap going back.

This is a 24-25 trade and I specified in the caption that EDM is an example

It 100% depends on how the upcoming season goes. If the top 4 performs as expected, which has lofty expectations, then trading Pettersson isn't an option because it weakens the team. I think the price for a 1 year top 4 LD would be a 2nd and a young roster player. Might be able to get a 1st, but it highly depends on the free agent market.

Just pointing out that Edmonton was a poor choice to use as an example. All their LHD are under contract for a fee more years.

The cap should go up around $92M the summer Pettersson becomes a UFA. Easy.
