Those returns are too high. CBJ most likely play competitive hockey til the last few weeks of the year when they'll fall out of wild card contention. Still will be a fun season tho! I do agree that the following season could be when we make the jump tho, as long as Elvis or Tarasov can solidify themselves as a reliable starter.

This team will be lucky to even get into the playoffs and if they did the best they do is win one round

This team will shock some people...but by finishing middle-of-the-pack and missing the wildcard by 5-10 points. There's just too many new key pieces, and everything would have to gel perfectly to get into the playoffs. I think next year (2024-25) we can hope for playoffs, and we should be a top-5 team in the East for a half-decade plus if the cards fall the right way.

I'm just hoping for good development from the youngsters (Fantilli, Johnson, Marchenko, Jiricek, Chinakov, Texier, Sillinger), Severson, Laine, and Werenski playing up to their contracts, and Elvis rebounding to look like an above-average goaltender again. That would be a successful season, positional-finish independent.

I'll be perfectly happy with 80 points next season and sixth in the Metro. Anything more than that would be amazing.

I am calling an 85 point season but ending up punching a few wildcard teams out of their spots like Pittsburgh late in the season because the team will be seasoned by this point. Remember we are still waiting for a few of the kids to be fully ready (Mateychuck and co) so its coming probably next year. Remember Jersey went from the cellar to the top of the standings as their kids got more and more experience.

Yep. That would please me completely. I say 80 because I expect Elvis to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory a few times. 80 should've been our baseline last season but it all went wrong. Get some more seasoning, work through the glut of extra players, and come into 24-25 ready to rock.

if Elvis can rebound, they have a shot. Defense is better. Fantilli will be a huge upgrade at 1C. Sillinger ditched that succubus and hopefully gets his mojo back.
