Not sure I understand how Fabbri is a replacement for Landeskog.

No interest in Fabbri at $4M AAV.

85-86 pts projected at most, still likely 7th in the division. Lacking the firepower of the other teams . Adding more depth doesn’t make u better when you lack the star power

Not exactly Orr, Harvey and Potvin is it? I think Steve has another move coming.

The Kings wouldn't do that trade even without the 3rd.

you fail to mention their elite goalie (which detroit currently also lacks) plus the canadian division path to finals lol

toronto was one of the best teams in the league that year. winnipeg was mid but had star power. vegas was one of the best teams in the league lol. it wasn't an easy path to the finals.

toronto wouldve been third at best in any other conference by points and they had the luxury of beating up on only canadian teams, all of which had flaws. vegas was a good team yes but not world beaters (even the wild pushed them to the brink). the lightning showed them what’s what and rinsed them

this discussion started by you implying adding depth without star power is sufficient in the nhl, using the 2021 habs as an example. and you’ve ignored the point they had an elite goalie. in a mangled year from covid in a weak-ish division they barely made playoffs, and without price they wouldn’t have at all. a team without elite pieces doesn’t win in today’s nhl
