They're better off sending down Pitlick. His full cap will come off and it's unlikely he'll get picked up on waivers due to his salary.

Sully burried him after the deadline. I think only Archibald played less at 5v5. No chance Carter is getting bigger minutes. They know he is toast.

Let's hope haha. And honestly Carter looked perfectly fine once he moved down.

His underlying numbers werent terrible, but the results were lol. In a perfect world he doesn't get a jersey, but injuries happen and he will play.

Were the results terrible with him on the 4th line at the end of the year?

My guess is he'll be the 4RW with or without injuries, but we'll see.

In the last 21 games at 5v5 he had 2 goals and 1 assist, the pens scored 4 goals with him on the ice during that time and gave up 12. I'd prefer he not dress, but he likely will. Acciari and DOC have enough speed and forechecking ability to hopefully cover for Carter's faults.

But most of those goals against were before he moved to the 4th line no?

Oh believe me, I prefer he not dress too haha. I was just saying I think he looked fine after they bumped him down. You think that'll be the 4th line? That leaves what - a Nieto/Eller/Nylander 3rd line?

Just two actually. Once Bonino got hurt 3 games in Carter went to the 4th line and Granlund/Poehling was 3rd line. His stat line wouldn't be as terrible if it wasn't for the Montreal game on March 14. He only played 5:48 in that game and was on the ice for 4 goals against.

Unless they bring in another winger that's a likey 3rd. DOC might get a shot there too. I'm sure they will shuffle the bottom 6 around a lot.

Ah - gotcha. Makes sense. A resident Pens historian haha.

I would think DOC is probably higher on the totem pole than Nieto or Nylander. As of right now I would guess DOC/Eller and then one of the other 47 bottom 6 forwards they signed lol. But yeah I agree it'll probably be shuffled a lot - especially at the beginning with Guentzel out
