Why on earth would NY do that Dallas trade? Trading a 23 year old - our future 1C - for a 30 year old who put up half the points that he did last season? And including another attractive trade chip like Z Jones to go with it?

Chytil is never, ever getting traded by NY. He is literally the future of the team, when the old core leaves the entire roster will be constructed around him and Fox. He's in that untouchable tier along with Kreider and Fox, so this will absolutely not happen. And especially not for that return.

The Rangers also aren't trading Lafreniere or Garand for that. Laf is likely to be a future cornerstone right along with Chytil, and if god forbid Igor leaves Garand is his replacement
