Kleven outworks Brannstrom in camp

Created by: Boodin
Team: 2023-24 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 21, 2023
Published: Aug. 21, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In the event that Kleven out performs Brannstrom in camp and solidifies a spot on the roster, making moving branny a possibility. Place MacKwen on waivers and sign Pinto to a team friendly one year deal. Brannstrom will most definitely bring back either a mid pick or decent prospect(could even add a prospect for a better return), not saying it has to be the Ducks, but I see this being a possibility to start the season. Grieg's spot being alternated throughout the season with Smejkal/crookshank

I have no idea what makes people think Brannstrom is only worth a 3rd round pick, or even a 2nd

24 pts per 82 games since 21 y/o. Top-30 in defensive metrics last season. Even raised his game when called upon (when Chabot was injured)

His value is rising back. The only smart way to trade him is for a similar young rising 2-way forward (still on his ELC or cost controlled)

I'm only low balling due to our current cap situation and looking at PD's track record, he could very well do much worse. But I did state that in the description that a waivers exempt player could also be a return. I'm trying to avoid all the trolls on other teams by actually putting up trades that I think are of even value so I low ball us to just show the trade as example.

Haha yeah if you’d ask a young forward for Brannstrom, many would jump at you.

And also agree with the Dorion effect, he let Duclair walk as a RFA so we never know

Try to put « young forward on ELC » instead

Selling low on Branny, in a very win-now move. I really dont like this.
