Canucks have no cap to make that trade.

Canucks would definitely consider that next offseason when they have cap space

It’s for 24/25 so we would have cap space. Depending on if we target a big name FA or not it could potentially be a worthwhile trade

Yeah a 21 man roster isn't really 'managing the cap' or at best it's managing it poorly. Tbh I'd agree that Girard & Manson are both candidates to be traded IF the Avs want to keep Toews (and they should). That said the Manson trade is probably the one favouring the Avs the most in those. I'm not sure why you're targeting some of the players you are either. The Girard trade return isn't great in my eyes, and I'd argue there are guys who can do what Goodrow does for cheaper.

The Avs probably need at least 1 entry-level-ish contract on the backend to make toews & landy work - I hope malinski works out. I don't see them trading both Girard & Manson.

You really need Kovalenko to work out on that 3RW side rather than spending. Goodrow is a fine option if he doesn't work out, though.

I like Foudy and I want him to succeed for the Avs, but I don't think a 4th line C is going to set him up for that. Just not his play based on what I've seen in the AHL.

The cap is probably not going to go up $5M for next season. You re-signed Toews but what are you going to do when you need to re-sign both Byram and Rantanen and also have to replace or re-sign RyJo? There won't be enough money for all of that even with the increase in the cap (whatever that ends up being). You also have to re-sign Makar soon. I just don't see how it's possible to keep Toews at anything more than $6M and he won't take that.

If NYR is willing to make that deal, then COL should take it and run. No way Beaucage brings in that kind of return.
