I think price will sees his number be retired before Koivu.

Gallagher has the 11 of Koivu for the moment

Not everyone deserves to have their number retired. Should be extremely rare. Jason pominville of course should not have his jersey retired

Red Wings Sergei Fedorov #91

The feud is bull****. Illitch family needs to swallow their pride and give their respect to a player that
A) literally ran away from his country to play for them
B) was one of the best 2-way players to ever grace this game
C) had some swagger skates

Fedorov never got the credit he deserved in my opinion. He was a complete player and made the game look easy at times. But his #91 not being retired by the Red Wings never seemed right to me. I agree. The Ilitch Family needs to get over it and stop pretending his career never happened. ☹️

I think Koivu would be more of a "Ring Of Honor" situation if anything, but I felt he should still be up there. Completely forgot about Price somehow, that's a good call

I was thinking more of non-active players, but I could see that

In Pominvilles case, I think it's more of what he meant to the city. He was a huge part of the 2000's teams and then chose to go back and finish his career in Buffalo, despite the fact that they were routinely a basement dweller at that point. 10 total years in Buffalo is a lot. It's probably a reach but whatever

Add on: Doesn't it seem weird that Sergei Fedorov is in the Hockey Hall of Fame and the team he played most of his NHL career with doesn't have his number 91 retired? 🤔

I mean he was only a key part of them winning 3 Stanley Cups. ☹️

I know none of them are retired yet but having a big pre game ceremony for Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Fleury, and Jagr would be absolutely amazing and sad.

The Caps could do something like that with Ovechkin, Backstrom, Holtby, and maybe even Green. I'd be a wreck if that ever happened lol
