Wouldn't even dream of offering a 37 going on 38 year old Blake Wheeler who hasn't been liked anywhere he has gone. Also don't think Pickering will be ready by next year though the year after different story so I'd rather hold onto one of Smith/Joseph instead of getting Dellandrea..... Also, I don't think 87 lets the front office let 59 walk away for nothing

I know nothings a guarantee - but aren't we most likely looking at an 87 or 88mil salary cap next year?

So Novak gets a $4m x 4 — how many goals/points are you anticipating he amasses this coming season?

I forgot about the cap raise. Considering that imma delete the Novak contract and sign Jake instead.

Guentzel is here. I forgot about the cap raise so that's why I signed Novak originally

i think he gets more than 7.5 on an open market ngl, looking more like 8.5

I was thinking more like 8 flat as a stay in Pittsburgh type savings (Which would still be compliant with a 87.5 mil cap)

Also, I know you edited Jake in, but I'd still remove the Dellandrea trade and Wheeler contract....... sign one of Joseph Smith to 2 year 1 mil and then trade others rights at draft for a pick (3rd round prob best gonna get), and then use the combined 1.9 plus to get a different UFA FWD similar to that of Blais

Depends on his health but id say closer to 8 mil than 8.5

Wheeler was just a throw in. That spot can go to any veteran who can put on decent points still and good defensively. I think Pickering will end up being ready but if not I agree with that.

The value is reasonable but I just don’t see why Dallas makes that trade. They have guys like Smith and POJ in the system already. Really don’t have any other guys like Delly. And from Pitt’s point of view it’s easier to get bottom six forwards than it is to get guys that might have enough talent to not look out of place on the second pair
