Agreed
Why do u guys think u get for Tanev at the deadline?
Seems to me that guys like that have been getting deals like a 2nd and then another pick, like a 4th or maybe even a 3rd if he’s playing well

I suppose a late1st from a Cup Contender is even possible
That seems like something Tampa would do, for example

Tanev has a ton of intangibles and has a proven track record of making his d partner better.

In all honesty I'm expecting 2 2nds but I could see someone even giving up a first for him if the market is right.

Dude is a warrior and any playoff team would be really happy having him on their first PK unit and second pairing.

Don't think your deal was out of the realm of what it would cost as Ostlund is likely valued equivalent to a late first.
AntiAnalytics liked this.

"Only 28"

28 is not young in the NHL

"Only 28" doesn't mean young, it just means he's got plenty of good years ahead of him. Sturm is the kind of player who could easily still be playing for San Jose as we come out of our rebuild 4-5 years down the line.

A 3rd and a 6th is probably good value for him, I'm just saying the Sharks aren't likely to want to give him up. Especially not when he's on a good contract for the next two years.
