Didn't think of it till you mentioned it. But what "snow job" in that trade with the Ducks. Ducks give up all that for one year of Nylander?

Yeah the Ducks arent trading McTavish

Just because Rupp said he sees a fit doesnt mean anything real

Nylander could not be further away from the type of player Verbeek has shown he covets, I would bet my house that he never wears a Ducks sweater in his career

Anaheim declines. Any interest the Ducks have in Nylander can be expressed next June, without cost. Why does Anaheim need Nylander in 2023-2024?

Perhaps…

But getting “the King of the North” is a marketing dream

I think McTavish looks a bit like Ogie Ogilthorpe.

Careful there...a couple of resident Detroit fans claimed to know that Bertuzzi wouldn't sign anywhere in Canada, nevermind the Leafs...and then hell froze over. 😂

A preposterous trade for Anaheim to make.

They aren't ready to compete, why trade a prized prospect for a pending UFA 7 years older.

I actually want you to tell me why it would be a good idea

Yeah this one’s just for fun. Nothing enticing about this move for ANA

VALUE WISE, this is a fair trade off, no @ ducks fans? Can't see McTavish being more than an 80-90 point scorer is his prime, which Nylander already is.

So if Knies projects as a 60-65 point scorer, you moving him to us for Killorn?

Ducks fans have responded, en masse, with a consensus POV. This is such an easy no. I’d personally hope we swing for Nylander in the off-season and lose nothing but money. If TOR or someone else can ink him first, good for them

That's a horrible comparison. I purposely typed VALUE WISE in all caps. Nylander is coming off consecutive 80 point seasons, while only being 27. Based on your response, you think McTavish will be better than a 80 point player by the time he's Nylander's age?

Is that all you take into account for value? I personally would take a lot more into account

Nylander:
Cost of $10M/yr from age 27-35
Production has likely peaked since he’s in his prime
Plays wing
Not very physical/defensive

McTavish
League minimum for 2 more years, bridge deal or likely well under $10m 7-8 year deal to follow, meaning control for ~9+ years at a far lower cost per year
Plays center
Very physical and defensive minded

Not to mention the production compare for the next 2 seasons isn’t really important to ANA anyway. They won’t be fighting for a playoff spot with or without Nylander. They want the better player 3-5 years from now in their window, which is 30-32 year old winger Nylander at $10M or 23-25 year old center McTavish on a cheap bridge or something like $8M. I honestly don’t see how the value feels close
