Timmins and Lafferty down to make the cap work. I don't think someone claims Timmins knowing that he still has two years left on his deal at 1.1M.

I'll be very disappointed if the Leafs need Gambrell to be on their main roster
I understand stand the Leafs fragile cap but Lagesson isn't an NHL Dman.

Or an even better idea... play Brodie on the left bc he's left handed

I don't know how they will make the cap work then. do you have an idea. reaves isn't goind down so. and i don't think treliving wants to move jarnkrok. traded for him when he was in calgary.

He's played the majority of his career on the right side and had his best results there, handedness is irrelevant in his case and there are advantages to both.

The only things I would change, switch Gambrell with Holmberg and sign a 7th, 8th defenceman (Hajek, Benoit, Edler, etc)

Brodie can play both sides perfectly. He even seemed better carrying his on pair. Aka when he got stuck W holl

not a big leafs fan but i told myself holmberg could get some games in the ahl. and for the 7th defenseman you are right but i don't think it's going to happen since they signed lajoie and lagesson.

But why put Lilly at a disadvantage? IDT Lilly's played on the left in his entire career whereas Brodie has

Seems like McCabe is the obvious choice in this scenario given he both shoots left and has more experience on the left side. Regardless, I think we should be looking to upgrade the D beyond what it looks like now and I believe we will do just that.

how. you have no cap. shouldn't have signed klingberg then. could of used that cap space for hanifin or Pesce.

I'll give you two guesses but one doesn't count (hint: it's a trade)

sure,

1) trade jarnkrok. but its not going to happen since treliving really likes him. he went after him when he was in calgary.
2) send reaves down. probably not going to happen since you just signed him for three years.
3) trade brodie but this could be the worst possible thing to do. that d core is going to be brutal. only move him if you replace him by a better defenseman.

Are you really a Habs fan? Or one of those secret “don’t want to admit it” Leafs fans 🤔? This team as currently constructed is in good shape - no guarantees admittedly - to make the playoffs. So Tre does not need to panic - let’s see how the rest of preseason unfolds; a lot of established nhlers still un signed. I’ll be curious to see if / how Leaf players pass through waiver wire but I agree with sending Timmins down. Chances are we can sign a better 7th /8th D option than Lagesson but time will tell

Are you replying to someone with the username "habsrthebest" and asking if they're a habs fan or were you trying to respond to me?

Why though, he's probably their 2nd/3rd best defensemen, why wouldn't you want him on the 2nd pair, especially when he catches fire

I didn't see that either... And agreed and there's options... I believe guys like Girad, Manson (if he waives), Pesce, Faulk, Krug, etc. can all really help (need retention though)

I'm saying Holmberg is superior to Gambrell, so gotta think Holmberg is a Leaf. The cap works. I just suggest Timmins should stay as Lagersson doesn't appear to an NHL Dman. But you're right, the difference in cap doesn't give you a 21 man lineup.

maybe you are thinking about moving nylander? would not be really smart to do so unless you get a great return.
