Mailloux isn't NHL ready, Montreal already created the spots on D they need, and this has them using their last retention spot to get a 3rd and a prospect they don't have room for. It doesn't address any needs for Montreal.

Savard gets more than this at next years TDL so I don't see why the Habs make this move this early

I don't think the Habs would do this. Really isn't worth the return at all. I'd rather keep Savard.

Canucks pass. We have no interest in Savard, he’s been worse than Myers the last 3 seasons

Pearson says he’s ready for training camp and will be coming of LTIR which means Canucks don’t have the cap space for this. Also we already have Myers so Savard would be redundant.
