Joseph and Thomson for Bemstrom

The proposal in the ACGM doesn’t accomplish anything for Ottawa, just adds to the logjam

And why would the Habs only pay Dobes to get Texier? Let me triple that offer to begin

Because Dobes was a beast the last 2 seasons for the Buckeye. He got the physic, the athleticism and the competitiveness to be a number one in Nhl. He was also a workhorse for them last 2 season. Dobes will draw more and more interest as the AHL season goes along. Habs have a gem that only need polishing. They aren’t trading him for Texier who have a hard time establishing himself as impact player. Habs a desperate for goalie so it make absolutely no sense.

Honest question: At his age can Texier still make the NHL?

EDIT: why was he in the NL this season?

He is already an established NHLer and was in the middle of a breakout season when he went on his LoA. He was away from the NHL since mid 2021-22 after the deaths of close family members.

As for how he'll be in his return, we really don't know until he gets on the ice.

Ok keep him then, looks like it’s a Jackets fan proposing this but Texier will actually be a good player. Not a lot of successful goalies from the NCAA. But ok if you want to keep him

Texier is a really solid player, or at least was, but after a mediocre season overseas I'm not sure what to expect from him this year. Dobes is an NHL unknown but has a high ceiling and CBJ could really use another goalie in their pipeline in NHL potential. They are loaded on the wings and even if Texier has a good bounce back season, it's going to be tough to re-sign him along with everyone else.

Sure, I'll take more, but I think both players have plenty of NHL questions around them. If they both reach their realistic potential, I view Tex as a really good contributing bottom six forward who can play top-6 in a pinch, and Dobes as an average quality starting NHL goalie.
