Why? They have a super solid, inexpensive LD group and two elite offensive defensemen, one of which is expensive and the other will need a huge contract in 2 years. There's no reason to trade all this for Quinn only to have to scramble to make both roster space and cap space for him.

Take a look at the Devils roster and cap situation and tell me for real that it's a good idea to blow up their prospect pool for Quinn. If you can explain to me why I'm wrong, I'd listen.

No Slovak defenseman has had stats anywhere close to him ever before and he's been a pro since he was 16. Then He came into the AHL and put up point totals that barely any defenseman has ever accomplished as an 18 y/o so he's certainly on the right path. Then you added an A tier winger prospect with 30+ goal potential in Holtz and a major playoff performer and leader in Palat. There is no world where that price is anywhere close to reasonable
