Canucks don’t need to sign another winger. Those line combos are very strange. Pearson is likely not LTIR

I don't think Brodie will waive to us plus I think pick is to much extra for difference between the two and from everything Allvin has said Pearson will not be on LTIR so we are over the cap by over 3m. So don't see it working out that way cap wise

He isn't currently penciled in. But yes could make it out of camp.

He will sign for less than you expect. He wants two years that's the hold up from what I know.

Leafs aren’t trading d for winger; certainly not our best defensive dman for 3rd liner winger on this Leafs team. Makes less than no sense

Leafs need Brodie. We need to add one top 4 physical dman to our CURRENT d group. Not remove our best defensive dman.

This isn't confirmed yet. He is practicing but hasn't been cleared by the team.

The only thing the GM has said publically isn't that he is preparing for camp.

I can't add anything I just know this deal was on the table. Might be part of something bigger for the Leafs.

Maybe the deal is contingent on them moving a forward. This time of year there are lots of deals like that in place.

I'd reference you to my post above.

I have no insights into the Leafs organization I'm purely speculating.

I really hope not I really do not like Brodie, But in no way should we add a horrible contract to our team. Beauvillier had 40 points and at over 4 m that makes him a horrible contract,It's Jarnkrok but with double the salary lol.

Everything I'm about to say is 100% my own speculation:

1. This may be half the picture. If this trade takes place and simultaneously a Leafs forward is moved for a D you could end up with a pair of players you prefer better.

2. Leafs could be thinking of flipping Beau.

3. You are correct about the stats but if Toronto was targeting Beau I can see two reasons. 1st his point pace in Vancouver was about 20 goals 30 assists over a full season so he could put up 50 points or more on a talented Leafs team. 2nd most fans don't always know the details of the game. At the risk of enraging Leafs fans, within the game it's pretty well known why they struggle in the playoffs. Their top guys like Marner/Matthews/Tavares are all really bad at carrying the puck through the neutral zone and entering the offensive zone. You can see this on their PP, they have the highest zone entry denial rate against on the PP. Nylander is the only forward on the Leafs with this skill set. During the season it's not a massive issue cause the can pass around D, chip it past them, etc. But in the playoffs when D aren't called for interference as much their speed isn't as effective on the forecheck and they struggle with a physical forecheck. So for their style of play they need to carry the puck into the zone. Beau is really good at that. Assuming it's Beau with Tavares and Marner he'd bring a viral skill the other two don't have. This is also why Nylander performs better in the playoffs, his skillset is better suited for the way the game is called and played in the playoffs.
