so a much worse, older player who costs too much for what he brings and will only get worse, a nothing prospect and a bust? this is terrible value for Nylander

You're not asking for any untouchable pieces, so as an Ana fan I appreciate that.

Not entirely certain why you're tossing in the third but we can take Timmins in the deal to make the cap work.

If Verbeek sees Nylander as the missing piece and believes he could get him resigned prior to FA for a not unreasonable deal, it's a trade he would probably take, even though I loathe the idea of loosing Warren.

Agreed.

Frankly I do like the Warren pick up here. He is huge and can play.... albeit I would say he is at least 2 years out.

But Strome and Jones? Oh boy. How one can say Strome will "play better" as a Leaf simply hasn't looked at the guy's track record. He is what he is - a 50 point a year player.

Jones maybe physical, and his game defensively sound enough, but these are guys you grab via the UFA market.

Warren is simply no where a good enough prospect.to justify this deal. No even close.

yeah, Warren is fine, he's what you basically expect to get in the 2nd round and the value around those guys is just minimal, no slight intended on him at all because you're right. The framing of this trade makes him basically pointless to the discussion, it's just so so so bad for the leafs in regards to anything else.
Strome, the centerpiece here was a guy I actually wanted the leafs to go after in free agency last year, abet at closer to 3.5 than what he got.

He would have been a solid pick up at $3.5-4 million. A decent enough 2nd liner.

But he shouldn't be the centrepiece of anything the Leafs do. That ship sailed. Contract is a little.much for me, and frankly, there are better to be had.

Of the Ducks were going to be in on Nylander, if it is a forward it would be McTavish (with the arrival of Carlsson he maybe could be grabbed) or Zelleweger on the blueline.

That proposal tales me back to Courtnall for Kordic.

Like you said a 50 point center who is good defensively and he won't get more points playing in our top 6 also close to home? You are all so bad at understanding anything even close to related to hockey it is funny. Plus a young power forward in Jones which everyone is not even factoring in could easily get 30 to 40 points on a powerhouse scoring team like TML , and then to have a young big right hand prospect and yet you say it would hurt the Leafs instead of losing an overpaid Nylander? The fans of TML are a joke. Go pay to watch a losing team some more , buy those jerseys and hats because that is all TML will ever be good for at this pace.

This is the first Nylander deal that actually feels right (as an ANA fan). No more untouchable core pieces thrown out there.

I like Max Jones for what he is, and love what Warren can become, he looked awesome in camp last year. That said, if Nylander would re-sign at a value that isn’t absurd, I can for sure get behind this

Doubt any TOR fans will though

Ya either way for ANA if Nylander will sign there or if they trade him for pieces that fit their rebuild better is worth it. I don't think TML fans realize how good the 2 NHL roster players would fit as well as a good prospect we need.
