I don’t understand why everyone adds to the better defender when trading Brodie, that’s an obvious no

This Minnesota trade is interesting. If Nylander comes in around 6x$10M it could make sense for Minnesota. From what I've heard he isn't valued highly within the organization.

Faber is valued more highly so maybe a tough one to get them to move him. If you replaced him with Addison. You would likely have a deal but I also see them accepting this. Helps them today and for the next 5 years. Their D is already solid.

Moving Foligno isn't something they want to do but they know it's a necessity to bring in any significant player. (Cap wise).

The Oleksiak deal is also something that could happen. Francis highly valued cap flexibility so dumping Oleksiak's age 31 and age 32 seasons while getting a better D (unless Brodie regresses) for the upcoming season plus a solid prospect and mid round pick would be very hard to pass up on.

And not enough for nylander

Not sure this is true.

I know the Leafs want more but in my eyes they are getting a top 20 and top 40 prospect likely a.high end 2C and future #2/#3 RHD.

Yeah that Minnesota deal is DOA. Minnesota is going to let their young guys develop, and when the dead cap is gone and the cap goes up enough, they'll sign who they want in free agency. We're not trading Rossi and Faber for a rental. If Nylander is willing to extend here, he'll be willing to sign here next summer.

And those other two pieces only make up the retention and the other pieces the leaf’s added so you basically have nylander for Rossi

Minnesota doesn’t want nylander. They can sign him as a free agent. They aren’t giving up these pieces for a free agent to be

No disrespect, but none of what you wrote regarding Minnesota is even close to being factual. They won’t accept this deal

You are a complete fool. The guy is a real NHL exec and nobody else disagrees with him but you think you know better? What a joke.

A real nhl executive? Leafs fans being leafs fans. Wild don’t want nylander. I have read other wild fans asking you guys to stop and you guys don’t, then call names because you get told no. Look at other teams situation for once. Our gm will not do this deal. Deal with it
