Terrible across the board terrible. The only player here worth getting is Tanev and it won't cost Liljegren to get him at the deadline as a rental.

Congratulations you just traded a mid 80’s point guy for a cap dump, and two fringe nhl players.

If the habs somehow wanted to retain on Anderson, we would retain 50% to get better value. But outside of that, habs accept

1. I don't like it for either team. Toronto doesn't want futures and spare parts, and I don't think Montreal is ready to say their rebuild is finished yet so they're not going to give up that much for a rental.
2. Great for Calgary. Too much for Toronto to give up to rent Tanev, but I like that you're going after him instead of Hanifin.
3. I like it for Toronto, especially if they can get some protection on the 1st-round pick, but I think it's premature to call a rebuild for Boston, and since I don't like the first trade Toronto wouldn't have Montreal's pick to deal anyway. It would have to be their own 1st, but that's probably not enough to pry Carlo out of Boston.

Imagine trading your 3rd best player to your historic rival for 3 bums and 2 throw-away picks.

Tanev is worth all that????? Calgary Dmen seem to very high premium one this site. Actually I don't know Habs would do that Nylander trade. There is no guarantee would resign.
Doubt if Boston would trade 4 years of the great value Carlo for that.

Hmmmm let's see getting rid of a bad contract and 2 AHLers and a pick that will be used on a player that will very likely not become better than Nylander himself???

Nahhhhh Habs say no for sure, you're so right.

Don’t see a bad contract, I see retention for 4 years though, thats expensive. I see a WiFi code that won’t be traded to a rival for anything less than a 1st, even if he was worth future considerations, I see a couple additional pieces, and also, guess what, a very possible top 5 pick. Say that Nylander is worth that is like saying that the sun is cold in winter

I think Tanev could be got for a 1st plus at the deadline. He'll be well sought after but he won't cost more than ROR cost. A 1st plus for sure. But it's not going to cost Liljegren

habs would be stupid to say no to that trade. They get an elite player and the only value they give up is that 2024 1st which doesnt even matter since Nylander makes the Habs a borderline playoff team

Highly doubt MTL is better than 7th in their division with Nylander. Plus, do you really wanna pay 10 mil a year on an 85 pt guy, that has played with only elite and franchise talent his whole career?
