Sabres aren't doing that trade now and definitely aren't making the trade next off season. JJP is set up for a potential breakout

NSH declines. Would be willing to discuss a deal, but the current deal isn't quite there. NSH has no reason to let go of Saros, so it will take a lot to get Trotz's attention on a deal for him. I like Farrell or Kidney as a starting point, but the pick will need to be a 1st. I'd be fine with MTL putting protections around the pick, but NSH isn't moving Saros without a 1st round pick involved. Additionally, Ylonen just isn't it. NSH already has a deep wing prospect pool on both sides and would have no need for another winger.

Buffalo is not interested in a mass dumping from Montreal. I'd say call Arizona but apparently they want to be good or something. You're stuck with those guys. Allen might have a little value.

Barron for Peterka conceptually is ok I guess, not interested though. I'd be fine trading out Peterka or Kulich but I'd be looking for something a little different than Barron.

You probably didn’t read the description but the trade involved a first round pick in addition of the 2nd rounder.

That is my bad, I just missed that part. Then to make sure I understand right, it is 2024 1st (estimated to be 22nd OA obtained by MTL from some contending team), MTL's 2025 2nd, Farrell, and Ylonen for Saros? I don't know who you are getting that 1st round pick from, but I'll run on the assumption it is at 22nd OA.

This is pretty close, and I think it is a matter of who the prospect is that is coming to NSH. NSH is in desperate need of centers who can be a 1C, and I think of the players you have in the description the ones that catch my attention the most are Mesar and Kidney. I like Farrell's game, but both Mesar and Kidney seem to have more talent as a potential center especially Mesar. Additionally, what I said earlier regarding Ylonen is still valid when NSH's winger pool is already as deep as it is. Assuming this deal is done during the 24-25 offseason, but before the draft if you swapped Ylonen with COL's 2024 2nd round pick or MTL's 2024 3rd round pick I'd be on board with this deal, assuming Askarov is ready for full-time NHL duty, which I think he will be by the 25-26 season.

So a new deal would look like Mesar, Undisclosed 2024 1st round pick (estimated 22OA), 2024 COL 2nd round pick/2024 MTL 3rd round pick, & 2025 MTL 2nd round pick for Saros, with Saros signing a 7 year extension in MTL.

Kidney is a sleeper in my opinion. He hasn’t had much visibility for playing in Bathurst but when he got traded, he was outstanding. Is hockey IQ is above average, he really improved is skating. He work a lot on is explosion, so the 2-3 first step got him moving faster. He definitely have top 6 potential. Mesar and Farrell have a higher offensive ceiling in my opinion but Kidney compensate largely with is all around game. Kidney is kind of bury behind all those defensive prospect but he probably be a top ten prospect in almost every team and maybe 10-14 team would have him top 5.

For adding a pick i don’t think that a problem for MTL they already have 27 picks for the next 3 season and they will had to that total this deadline and next offseason. I think Montreal would want to send a contract back that was the purpose of adding Ylonen but adding Allen or Primeau would make more sense since Askarov will need partner in net. Allen would only be a security blanket. If Nashville have a rough year you are more eager to sacrifice Allen then demolishing Askarov confidence. But there definitely somethibg to be work.
