That 3rd/4th line doesn;t scream quality.

And center still looks like a number 1 is missing.

Chiasson is not taking a spot, there simply is not room.

You are missing Boqvist. He is not getting thru waivers. Chiasson not taking his slot.

While Brown provides zero offense, he can play 4th line center, win faceoffs, kill penalties, very physical. Chiasson’s only value is on the PP so he’s not taking Brown’s slot either.

Unless they trade Forbort to free up the space for 23rd slot, Chiasson’s only shot is a significant injury to someone or he flat out beats Heinen and Greer for last FW slot, unlikely with his limited skill set.

Aside from the previous replies, Lucic as a scratch would anger most fans!!

I believe you are going to see one of Merkulov or Lysell get every opportunity to win a 3rd line position at the beginning of the season. They lost so much scoring and the reality is one of the young prospects is probably the cleanest way to acquire it. It’s not the popular opinion, but if they have a good camp … one of them will be in the top 9 and could develop further.

I also agree Lucic is playing on the 4th line barring any surprise.

My assumption is Brown beats out McLaughlin and Beecher for the 4th center and Boqvist beats out Heinen, Greer, and Chiasson for the 13th forward.

I’m curious what Lauko did with faceoffs in the minors when he was a center.
