Over the last 3 seasons, among the 519 forwards who played at least 500 ES minutes, Joseph ranks 273th with 1.64 Pts/60 (higher than Kubalik, Pageau, Granlund, Yamamoto, Wennberg, Laughton (lol), Hoffman, Perry, etc)

According to this poster, Scott Laughton is worth a 1st + 2nd while Joseph cost a 2nd MINIMUM to dump... the "barely above a 4th liner " is 3 years younger, produces better, is better defensively and Elite on the PK

Is Docker still considered a prospect? He's 23, seems like if he was going to be a top 4 talent we'd see more from him already. Dobber Prospects has him as unlikely to be productive NHLer. Joseph is on a terrible contract and is more of a contract dump than anything. This trade super sucks for Sharks

He turned 23 this summer, last season was his 22 y/o season. He played 2 seasons in the AHL, has been signed to a 2 years ONE way contract, totally normal trajectory for a defensive D-man

He's a prospect because he only has 32 NHL games but he's graduating this season. He's not going to be a points producer though, just going to grow as a shutdown guy. If he becomes stronger, my comparison is Josh Gorges

Joseph contract is not terrible at all, but CF surely has made it out to be. Yes he was overpaid based on last season but not at all based on 2021-22, 30 ES+PK points in 69 games, not bad at all for a defensive forward and PK specialist. He will rebound to his norm

I would do Joseph + 2nd for Zetterlund but that's it. Not adding JBD for Benning
